Welcome to Settoon Capital
Settoon Capital is a private wealth investment company organized exclusively to manage the assets of the Russ A. Settoon family. Russ Settoon successfully founded, grew and exited his legacy business, Settoon Towing, from which he formed Settoon Capital to diversify his investment holdings. Investing in both active and passive positions, Settoon's values take center stage in evaluating all opportunities. Settoon Capital is not a private equity group and therefore can be more flexible in its investment structures and has a long-term investment time horizon. A Louisiana family office formed in 2015, Settoon Capital invests in Transportation & Logistics, Energy, Construction and Real Estate, among other sectors.

Settoon Capital focuses on providing capital to companies where we have deep industry expertise and thus can provide exceptional strategic, operational and administrative support. We give our portfolio companies access to our decades of business experience and expertise in decision-making processes, company strategy, management processes and financial consulting. Our deal structures aim to position Settoon Capital as an additive, contributing equity partner aligned with each company’s management team.

1968
Settoon Marine founded by Fred Settoon, father of Russ Settoon
1994
Settoon Towing formed by Russ Settoon
1996
Russ purchases Settoon Marine from his father
1999
Acquires BWS Towing and establishes a leading market share in the produced water segment in the Gulf Coast area
2000
Acquires Cenac Towing's crude gathering operations
2006
Sells 50% interest in Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. and forms a strategic alliance
2009
Settoon takes delivery of its first unit tow consisting of two 30,000 bbl barges and a 3,2000 HP push boat
2013
Acquires Enterprise Marine Services crude gathering fleet
2014
Settoon grows to become a top 10 tank barge operator in the United States with over 200 pieces of equipment
2015
Settoon Capital formed in anticipation of Settoon Capital divestitures with plan to diversify and actively deploy capital into direct investments
2017
Sale of Bulk Liquids Towing division to Savage Inland Marine
2020
Strategic transaction with Crosby Enterprises for Settoon to exit marine operations
